Welcome to our Library, the hub of our school! We are situated next to the office, and we're always happy to have students and staff visit. The library is open to students and staff from 9:15 to 4:00.
We have a fantastic selection of current reading and viewing material including first readers, picture books, fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels. We also have a selection of videos for student borrowing and an inviting list of e-books and videos you can stream at home. Check out our Elementary Internet tools link: it has teacher-previewed sites bookmarked and sorted by grade and subject area. It also has links to databases, video streaming, the Halton Cloud, eBooks, our library catalogue, and other handy reference resources.
For access to most databases, eBooks and video streaming sites from home, students need only their library card number. If you want to use this service over the summer, please make sure you have your library bar code number before school ends for the summer.
Often students find a quiet corner to read or a large workspace to complete a project in our library, and are always welcome to browse the shelves. The younger classes come down weekly for a story-time session and book exchange, while our older students exchange books as they need them. They often have a novel signed out or a non-fiction book of interest.
The graphic novels and magazines seem to fly off the shelves! Parents, we hope you enjoy with your children the books they bring home, and help them return their books in good condition so they can check out their next read!
